is a durable, vitrified, ceramic tableware introduced to North America in the late 19th century. P
rized for its toughness and cost-effectiveness, it was the ware of choice in nearly every commercial and institutional setting of that period.
This sweet, little butter pat plate was manufactured c. 1901 by Wood & Sons in England for Albert Pick & Company, a hotel furnisher based in Chicago, Illinois USA. It features the rare, Art Nouveau "York" pattern of red tulips with blue stems.
