    This item is old production(2005) but still in original tags and bag.
    It was produced before the level 2 was approved for general issue, so it has a temporary NSN.
    The Gen 3 Level 2 is part of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS).
    The level 2 is a mid-weight base layer.  It is designed to be worn next to skin under a uniform in temperate to cold conditions to add ligth thermal protection.  It features a moisture-wicking and highly breathable fabric to help keep you dry.  The level 2 features a "waffle" stretch pattern for increaseed comfort.  It is lower volume then previous generations.
